CONFERENCE SPOTLIGHT: Effective PreK-3 Models for Virginia’s Schools Institute

On October 1, 2018, the University of Virginia hosted 25 teams from school divisions around the state to attend the Effective PreK-3 Models for Virginia’s Schools Institute. The event was created to build awareness about how effective approaches to supporting learning from preschool to grade three can help ensure that all young children in Virginia start school with the skills they need to succeed in school and life.

Two national speakers provided teams research-backed frameworks as well as practical approaches to guide their early phases of PreK-3 work. Dr. Kristie Kauerz, director of the National P-3 Center, and Dr. Sharon Ritchie, director of the FirstSchool Initiative, have shared their presentation from the event below.
